Universal Stove Knobs

One of my recent projects focused on creating CNC-machined stove knobs that are truly universal. The idea came from noticing how many homeowners struggle to find replacements that actually fit their specific range—most OEM options are either discontinued, low-quality plastic, or extremely expensive. I wanted to design a single premium aluminum knob that could fit a wide range of brands and models, which led me to engineer a system of custom adapters. By machining the knobs to tight tolerances and pairing them with these adapters, I was able to make a product that not only looks and feels high-end but also installs easily across different stoves. The biggest challenge was balancing precision with flexibility—every brand has slightly different shaft designs, so prototyping the adapters required careful measuring, trial and error, and multiple setup changes on the mill. In the end, solving these problems reinforced my mission as a new machine shop: to deliver durable, universal, and thoughtfully engineered parts that simplify everyday life.
